For those who don't know (and you're lucky), Geni.com is a family tree site (similar to Ancestry.com, et. al. [hi @jb]). The site sends around five emails each day giving updates on what's going on with your extended family. The emails look like this:

Sometimes they look like this:

(truncated, footer follows)
After daily deletion, I finally decided I should just unsubscribe from geni.com. I soon found out this was easier said than done.
Clicking on the unsubscribe link in the footer of one of those emails will present a page similar to the one below:

You'll note, very subtly, that both that page and the email footers designate each email as a separate type. That is, clicking the "yes" button will only unsubscribe you from birthday announcements, for instance. All other email types will still be sent out for you to delete.
"Ah ha," you may be thinking, "he hasn't spotted the manage all notifications link." Damn straight I did. Wanna know what you get?

Take three guesses as to what is missing from that page. If you guessed a button to unsubscribe from all emails, you'd be right. You have to uncheck each box individually.
